Nicholas Mukhtar is a distinguished professional renowned for his extensive public health and business consulting work. He is from Detroit, Michigan, and is the visionary founder of Healthy Detroit, an organization dedicated to enhancing public health. He currently lends his expertise in strategic consulting to clients across the nation.

Nicholas's academic journey began in Detroit, where he attended the University of Dayton as a Chaminade Scholar before completing his bachelor’s degree at Wayne State University in 2013. His pursuit of excellence in public health led him to Johns Hopkins University, where he achieved dual Master's degrees in Public Policy and Public Health in 2017.

Spurred by a recognition of Detroit's public health deficiencies in 2012, Nicholas founded Healthy Detroit. This nonprofit was designed to bridge gaps in health services through dynamic and effective health programs. Under his leadership, Healthy Detroit thrived, securing over $100 million in funding and expanding its reach across the community. By 2017, the organization boasted a significant annual budget of $15 million, marking its growth under his adept management.

Nicholas launched Healthy Communities, a consultancy based in Washington, D.C., to scale his impact in 2017. The firm specialized in advising government officials and policymakers on public health strategies, serving notable clients such as Speaker Paul Ryan, Senators Rand Paul and Tim Scott, and the White House's Office of American Innovation.

Simultaneously, Nicholas established Tera Strategies in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This firm provides strategic advisory services, helping clients from family offices to large corporations streamline operations and achieve their strategic objectives.

Nicholas is lauded for his strategic vision and leadership across several sectors, including public health, wealth management, and business consulting. He is fluent in English and Arabic and continuously improves his Spanish proficiency, adding a valuable dimension to his consultancy practice.

His leadership has been recognized through various accolades, including a feature in the 2014 Surgeon General’s Report to the President and Congress. He was also named the 2015 Playmakers Changemaker of the Year; in 2017, Healthy Detroit was honored as the National Public Health Organization of the Year by the American Public Health Association. Nicholas is a Bloomberg Fellow at Johns Hopkins University, reflecting his commitment to advancing public health.

Dedicated to civic engagement, Nicholas has served on several boards, including the Men's Health Foundation and Trinity Health System in Livonia, Michigan. He has chaired the Detroit Parks & Recreation Commission. He is an active member of the Michigan Community Health Worker Alliance.

Nicholas remains committed to his philanthropic pursuits. He lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with his fiancée, Alexandra, affectionately known as Lexi. The couple is actively involved in various charitable activities and eagerly plans their wedding in April, demonstrating their shared dedication to societal betterment and personal engagement.
